Burnley FC management recently ended weeks of speculation when they announced who is to succeed Paul Fletcher as the Clarets‘ new chief executive.

Fletcher, who announced last month that he was to retire from his position at Turf Moor, is to be replaced by American Lee Hoos, who has previously held the same position at Fulham, Leicester City and Southampton football clubs.

In a short interview, Hoos, who is to become the Clarets’ first overseas chief executive, said: “It’s a privilege to be named as Chief Executive of Burnley Football Club and I am absolutely delighted to be joining a club that, in my opinion, is going places.

“Burnley FC has an excellent Board Of Directors and, as a long standing admirer, a very, very good manager in Eddie Howe. I come here with high hopes and the number one priority has to be to get this club back in the Premier League. Burnley FC has already shown that can be achieved and there is no reason at all why we can’t get back there again.”
